Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting an engagement party for brunch on our front porch. We took care of the food, drinks, dessert, and outdoor space, so our guests could enjoy their time celebrating with family and friends. Congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you for choosing The Henry Clay Inn for your special event.
One of our unique features is our spacious porch. It provides the perfect setting for socially-distanced outdoor dining.
Great food, great drinks, and great friends have allowed us to create a lot of memories. Recently, we hosted an engagement party for a local couple. We were humbled when their family chose our porch to celebrate their milestone.
The party serves as an important reminder. We don’t just serve food and drinks. We serve as a place to create memories and bookmark the chapters of your life.
In the coming year, the world will reopen. The happy couple will embark on an amazing journey that will include many memories. Our team will always be honored and proud that they started it here with us.
While 2020/2021 has taken away a lot, it has given us a reminder that love still conquers all. And love is certainly in the air on the porch at The Henry Clay Inn®. It is the closest thing we have to magic.
The year 2020 is one like we’ve never experienced. Our once big world became very small. The hustle and bustle of everyday life came to an abrupt halt. Simple things like trips to the grocery store became a cautionary tale. At The Henry Clay Inn®, the silence was deafening. No longer was it possible for our extended family from all across the globe to travel to our historic Inn. Our rooms and our hearts were empty.
These changes created a time of soul searching and reflection for our team. After speaking with our neighbors, we decided to reopen our restaurant. It was something that we were working towards doing, but as the saying goes, “there’s no time like the present.” While not expected, we were bound and determined to make our reopening special.
We started with curbside pickup service for Easter Dinner. The response from the community was overwhelming and resulted in a sellout. It was humbling and inspiring. Next up was Mother’s Day, which again was a hit. Father’s Day didn’t just bring the warm weather. It brought the reopening of our spacious porch for outdoor, socially-distanced dining.
Great food. Great drinks. Great friends.
And so the comeback of The Restaurant at The Henry Clay Inn® began.
Every year Ashland’s homes and businesses lift up the hearts of residents with a show of holiday lights and decorations. We also take special pride in making The Henry Clay Inn® glow with the season of warmth and cheer as we greet all visitors as they pass on the Amtrak or arrive at our doorstep.
Over the years the beautiful yellow inn by the train station has become a friendly spot to sit, share experiences with other travelers and locals, rest in our luxurious rooms and suites, or enjoy the experience of some fine home cooking.
Our famous porch, warm cozy lobby, second floor sitting room and balcony porch are always open to the public. Our inviting meeting rooms add a sense of comfort to any event or occasion. Come on by this season and allow our family to greet your family and friends with the charm that has made us famous.
Staying at The Henry Clay Inn® is an experience in comfort that offers a true sense Virginia charm and grace.
